Beginner Fly Tying

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to make your own flies, this one-day workshop is for you! You’ll learn how to make 5 different types of flies that work well on Laramie area waters and can be used year-round. You’ll receive a printout with a classic recipe, tying instructions, and learn how to read them. By the end of the day, you’ll also be familiar with various fly-tying materials and gain knowledge of local and online resources to help you on your way to fly tying mastery.

Google Workspace

This Google Workspace (formerly known as G Suite/Google Apps) Level 1 class will provide a basic overview of its many apps, with a primary focus on the most commonly used such as Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. We’ll examine how to utilize its communication and collaboration potential, along with how to use Microsoft and other file formats effectively with Google Workspace. A Google Workspace subscription or workplace account is helpful, though not required for the class.

We’ll delve into some of the reasons (or excuses) that keep us from pursuing a side hustle and explore diverse ideas and skill levels to help you discover opportunities that could work for you. Maybe now’s the time to make that extra money!

MS Excel - Level 1

In this one-day workshop, you’ll learn the first steps to create and develop Excel worksheets and workbooks in order to work with and analyze the data that is critical to the success of many organizations. You will learn: how to use Excel to perform calculations; modify a worksheet; format a worksheet; print, save, and share worksheets. This class is most effective for students wanting the knowledge to accomplish basic workplace tasks in Excel, or to gain a solid foundation for continuing on to become an Excel expert! This workshop is also a great place to start if you are thinking about taking the Microsoft Office Specialist exam, though more classes are needed to be fully prepared to take the exam. Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Windows are needed for this class.

QuickBooks Desktop

This 3-day course provides instruction on how to use the desktop version of QuickBooks, Intuit's accounting software for small businesses. The class is designed to teach you how to use features and give you an opportunity for hands-on practice. Students will learn about setting up and creating a company, modifying the preset chart of accounts, working with multiple lists, setting up inventory, invoicing, processing payments, working with bank accounts, entering and paying bills, customizing forms, creating reports and graphs, tracking and paying sales tax and preparing payroll. A basic understanding of computers and accounting knowledge is recommended for this class.

Project Management Essentials

This one-day class provides students with a high-level overview of project management essentials. This class will help you develop a working definition of project management and identify knowledge requirements for project managers. We’ll also explore key interpersonal skills needed for effective project management, such as communicating, leading, motivating, problem solving, decision making, and influencing. The goal of this class is to help you gain confidence and learn how to effectively apply this knowledge as a project manager or project team member. This is a beginner level class with no project management experience needed, but it would also serve as a solid refresher for those with some experience.

Church Building in Europe from Romanesque through Gothic: Lecture Series
