This course will cover the online version of QuickBooks, Intuit's accounting software for small businesses. There will be a teaching component and opportunities for hands-on practice. You’ll learn about setting up and creating a company, modifying the chart of accounts, working with multiple lists, invoicing, processing payments, working with bank accounts and bank/credit card reconciliation, entering and paying bills, customizing forms, creating reports and graphs, tracking and paying sales tax and preparing payroll. A basic understanding of computers and accounting knowledge is recommended for this class.

This class will help you gain a better overall understanding of data analysis through tools such as PivotTables, PivotCharts and Power Pivot. You’ll learn how to analyze data from a variety of sources, then organize, cleanse, manipulate and report that data with maximum insight and effectiveness, which can help improve business decisions. Books are provided, along with classroom hands-on activities. It is strongly recommended that students have some degree of Excel proficiency or prior registration in Excel Levels 1, 2 and 3 before taking this class, as this class qualifies as “Excel 4.”

Topics covered include necessary equipment, best practices, organizing content, using templates to polish appearance and save time, utilizing multimedia to increase engagement, major dos and don’ts, and other essential tips to ensure a successful presentation that keeps your audience’s attention. Also, hands-on lab activities utilize PowerPoint in-depth, and a course book is included. This course is both for students with little to no familiarity using presentation software and also for those who have experience, but are looking to expand and sharpen their skills, learning more advanced PowerPoint features than the average “deck-builder.”
