Computers are meant to be our trusty sidekicks, but if you're not on speaking terms with them, they can feel more like mischievous gremlins. If you think computers are more gremlin than sidekick, this class is for you! Topics and hands-on activities that will be covered include computer hardware and accessories, such as monitors, mice, printers, webcams and more. We’ll also discuss logging on and navigating operating systems such as Windows 11. Once the basics are covered, we’ll talk about running programs, especially MS Office, the basics of using Word and Excel, and how to manage and organize your files. Finally, we’ll delve into using the Internet and email, along with social media basics, safety and security both online and off. Bonus Feature - if you don’t have an email account, you’ll create one in class!
